All year 5 children are using Mathletics. Two staff members have undertaken PD on this. This was implemented after attending the conference in Rotorua. Jamie Tennent - Mathletics advisor visited and worked with staff from our school. Our teacher in charge will prepare a report for the Burwood School Board of Trustees using a PMI and will also include children's voice.

8.22 C Goal 3 - Evidence of Student Collaboration in an Online Community b

The following image shows how we used Kidspiration to work together and decide what they wanted their blog to contain:

The following document shows the children's reflections of the blogging.

8.22 D Goal 4 - Evidence of Distributed Leadership b

This is an overview which shows some of the Professional Development our ICT lead teachers have planned and implemented with the rest of the staff:

The follow through to syndicate team meetings is shown here in some exerts from minutes:

The following documents show information from both the Mathematics and Literacy curriculum teams working together and then they report back to the whole school and development for the school is discussed.

A team approach was used from Senior Management (AP and DP) to Syndicate/Team Leaders and the Literacy Team Members to create a school wide document. This would be a good approach to use to develop a school wide inquiry model.

8.22 E Goal 5 - Evidence of Community Awareness and Involvement b

Learning Celebrations
Here is an exert from a notice inviting parents to an assembly to share learning:

"Room 19 and Room 7 will be running an assembly together on Monday 14 September in the hall from 1.30 until 2pm. All parents of the children in these classes are most welcome to attend this. We will be using Keynote to present our learning from the last term."
At our last celebration two classes shared the children's learning goals - one class used the data projector to present them.
Y-charts were completed by each class to show what our learning celebrations should look like, sound like and feel like. See below:

This image shows where a parent has responded to their child's family tree by using the same ICT and taking it a step further by creating their own using Kidspiration.
